Well now that I am about to start teaching (and through some great ideas on pinterest), I have found some great uses for them already which I will definitely implement into my classroom. One idea is to use cooking trays as magnetic boards.
This will be a great way for students to
- practice their spelling words
-spell/write a new or interesting word they see while reading
- to practice making sentences
- for practicing sums (with the numbers)
What other ideas could you use these for????
If you can't find these magnetic letters and numbers anywhere, don't fret- you can make your own (which I will also be doing). I found this amazing way to make your own letter magnets on Mama Jenn, just click on the link and you can make your own.
It will be interesting to see which other things that I have collected over the last few years come in handy throughout the year and which ones are never used....
What a cute blog!! I love quilting and your background is so cute! I will add you to my "New Blogs on the Block" Blog roll!! Thanks for leaving a comment on our giveaway!

LOVE the magnetic letters on the cookie sheets. I've seen this on pinterest lots too and think its an awesome idea! I am trying to accumulate resources but being a high school teacher its not as much cute stuff as you would have in an early years classroom :(
ReplyDeleteLove pinterest so much, it is becoming addictive! But at least it is productive addictive and I am getting useful tips from it! I never realised there are so many great yet simple resources such as these cookie sheets!!! Can understand about not getting as much cute stuff in high school, but there will be so many other great things you can do- especially with technology!
DeleteThanks for the comment
Michelle
I wish I had collected more magnetic letters too when I started teaching. But, you live, you learn, you buy more magnetic letters...hehe :) Have a great day!

Thanks Lisa! haha, there are many things I wish I had more of- but as you said- can always buy more magnet letters :-)
DeleteI mounted my cookie sheets on the cabinet doors with Velcro so the kids have a station to play with the letters.
